Everyone’s favorite singer and supermodel duo, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have explicitly broken up after reports of Zayn ‘striking’ Yolanda Hadid, Gigi’s mother, have gone viral. The gossip website TMZ reports both the separation as well as the incident with Yolanda and Zayn as reported by sources familiar to the situation.
TV personality and former model herself, Yolanda Hadid was struck by Zayn Malik last week, as reported by TMZ. She is apparently considering filing a police report against the assault. There has been no public statement by her so far, and no official reports of any complaints filed yet.
TMZ also reported that Zayn Malik gave them a statement saying, “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”
In an official statement released on his Twitter account however, Zayn Malik clears out the incident with minimal details and without mentioning Yolanda’s name.
He attached a screenshot of the statement written in the notes app that read, “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”
Adding, “This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been “leaked” to the press. I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
There are no statements on either matter from Gigi Hadid yet, except her representatives telling E! News, “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.”
Their daughter Khai is currently 13 months old. Fans of the couple are heartbroken over the news, and many believe Yolanda is to blame with one Twitter user saying, “no cause yolanda not only disrespected zayn but also gigi by leaking those pictures of khai…. both gigi and zayn wanted khai’s life to be private so she’s hurting gigi here as well her own daughter”
