President-elect Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump with a vast majority of votes in the 2020 elections. However, Donald Trump has refused to accept his defeat and has filed a lawsuit claiming the elections have been stolen.
The investigations are still going on, due to which Joe Biden has not been able to get started with the transition process. However, the Republicans are trying their best to complicate governance for Biden’s administration.
Currently, nothing is more important than curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus. However, the team appointed by Donald Trump during his tenure to work on the vaccine has refused to share the vaccine information with the Biden government.
This news was first authorized from Senator Chris Murphy’s tweet. In his tweet he said, he just got off from a conference call with Trump’s vaccine team, and they have confirmed that they have not briefed anyone from Biden’s team yet, nor they have any plans to share the vital information.
Moreover, President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris met with Democrat and Republican governors on Thursday. In this meeting, they discussed the ongoing crisis of the virus and the failure of Trump’s team to brief the newly elected government. On this, the president-elect responded in a worrying tone that if this keeps happening, the rise in the cases and mortality rate would cause more than 400,000 deaths by February.
He also highlighted that many Americans would lose their lives just because of the differences and fights between the two parties.
When the White House spokesperson Brian Morgenstern was asked whether they are going to brief Biden’s team on the vaccine or not, there was no particular answer from his side. However, he confirmed that the manufacturing of the vaccine is underway and would be available soon. As far as the distribution plan is concerned, it is available publicly by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The refusal of Trump’s team to brief about the vaccine plan to Biden’s administration will cause an emergency for the incoming government, as they would have difficulty to plan the distribution on the day when the vaccine arrives.
As of now, the second wave of Covid-19 has started across the globe and the US has surpassed 250,000 cases within a week. According to the plan, the vaccine would be available soon, but the main problem would arise during the time of its distribution.
