Comedian Tiffany Haddish finally speaks out about her recent arrest in Georgia for driving under the influence.
Tiffany Haddish was recently arrested by Georgia police for “driving under the influence” in the early days of January.
The comedian appeared on the virtual episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday and spoke about her run-in in Georgia.
“I can say this Jimmy, I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man, a good man,” said Haddish, who recently went through a public breakup with rapper Common. “And God went ahead and sent me four in a uniform. I wasn’t expecting it.”
She further stated that he got a call from the Georgia police being a driver who was asleep behind the wheels on the highway.
The Grammy-winning comedian was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia which is located about 40 miles in the outskirts of Atlanta. The authorities determine that the report of a driver sleeping behind the wheel matched the description with Haddish and she was asked to pull over.
The Assistant Police Chief Matt Myers stated that Tiffany was arrested.
Tiffany Haddish was later released from the Fayette County Jail after posting a bond of $1666.
“I got a really great lawyer and we’re gonna work it out. And I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better,” Haddish added.
Tiffany had experienced a hard week after she lost a dear friend Bob Saget earlier this week but still appeared on the show after Jimmy requested her to do so.
“Bob Saget, who was like a big mentor to me, a big brother, a father figure — he meant a lot to me,” Haddish said. “He was the first white man to tell me ‘just be yourself. Just be who you are, Tiffany.’ “
Bob Saget, America’s famous dad – Danny Tanner from Full House and the first host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” was found dead in his Florida hotel on 9th January. His cause of death was not released.
