It’s been reported that Tiffany Haddish was pulled over and faces DUI charges.
Local police in Peachtree City, Georgia, received a call about a driver who was sleeping while driving on a highway in the early hours of Friday morning, according to a news statement from the local authorities.
As Haddish drove into a driveway, an officer recognized the car from the caller’s description and made the arrest.
Haddish was freed from Fayette County Jail after paying $1,666 (£1,218) bail, according to reports.
According to TMZ, the 42-year-old comedian was pulled over because cops suspected he was under the influence of marijuana.
Her mugshot was acquired by the tabloid and shows the Girls Trip actress smiling and sporting a short blonde buzz cut.
There was no word on when the case will be back in court.
The Independent has reached out to Haddish’s team to get their take on the situation.
As recently as last week, Tiffany Haddish had said that she would not pass down the opportunity to host the 2022 Oscars despite her hectic schedule, and month of April is OK with her.
“Girls Trip” is one of Haddish’s best-known works. “The Afterparty,” a forthcoming murder mystery comedy on Apple TV+, will include her. When Haddish was a toddler, her Eritrean father abandoned the family. Before moving in with her grandmother when she was a teenager, Haddish was placed in foster care after her mother was severely injured in a car accident. When her social worker saw that her classmates were often laughing, she encouraged her to attend the free summer camp given by the Laugh Factory, a comedy club chain, in order to learn how to do stand-up comedy. Haddish’s life was changed forever as a result of her time at camp.
