Lisa Banes, the actress who rose to fame from the film “Gone Girl” died from multiple injuries sustained by a hit and run incident earlier this month.
The 65 years old actress had been in critical condition since she was hit by a scooter in New York City.
David Williams, the manager of Lisa Banes released an official statement about her passing away stating that “we are heartsick over Lisa’s tragic and senseless passing”. He paid tribute to her by exclaiming that she was a woman who possessed kindness, generosity, and great spirit while being dedicated to her work whether it was on stage, in front of the camera or off the camera, or as a doting wife, or a family person. She was a blessing to have in everybody’s life which she touched.
Banes was struck by a scooter in Manhattan’s Upper West area on June 4th. The scooter ran away and Bane suffered severe head trauma due to the fatal collision. She had been hospitalized since then.
According to the NYPD, the scooter fled the crime location and continued north. No arrest has been made till now in connection with the hit and run incident as the investigation is still ongoing. As per the reports, Banes was en route to visit Juilliard, her educational institute, and the Lincoln Center Theater when she was injured on her way.
Lisa Banes, a native of Cleveland, Ohio had begun her acting career back in the 1980s. She worked alongside Tom Cruise in the hit 1988 film “Cocktail” and got immediate recognition from the 2014 movie “Gone Girl” where she played the role of a prickly concerned mother Marybeth Elliot.
Banes was an actress at all platforms of performing arts. She made recurring TV appearances in famous television shows like “Nashville”, “Royal Pains” and “Masters of Sex”. She was termed as an intelligent actress on the stage of Broadway. She performed in plays like “Arcadia”, “High Society” and “Rumors”. Banes won the theatre world award for her role in the hit stage drama “Look Back in Anger”.
Lisa Banes was married to Kathryn Kranhold who took to Twitter to pay a heartfelt tribute with touching posts and pictures of Lisa Banes.
Other than that, director and actor Seth MacFarlane also posted a tribute for the late actress stating that her death is indeed “a tremendous loss”
