TV star Tami Roman revealed in a recent interview that she has offered her husband, Reggie Youngblood, to have a child with another woman because having a baby would not be a good decision for her career.
‘I feel like I’m at a point where my career is starting to do and reward me for all of my efforts and the time that I’ve been in this business, and a baby for me right now would just not be the thing to do. So what I offered him was an opportunity for us to take a break for a year or two and let him go find someone to have a child with. And then when he has his baby, we could get back together,” said Tami Roman on ‘The Real’ on Wednesday.
The couple was previously planning on having the baby through surrogacy, but Roman feels she isn’t ready to have it at this moment. She said she wants her husband to be able to carry his legacy onwards even while she does not want to have the baby herself.
Tami Roman continued, “I would help raise the baby. It’s just I don’t want to have it. I don’t want to go get my eggs and all that. It’s really more about him being able to have his legacy here because he’s an only child and he does not have any children. So it’s really more for him than it is for me.”
She also talked about having an eating disorder since she was 13 due to a horrible experience with an unnamed woman at an agency who fat-shamed her saying, “…I thought I was perfect: 5’9, less than 120 pounds. Assuredly, they’re going to sign me. And she literally stood me in front of a mirror and said, ‘You’ve got back folds, you’ve got fat over your knees. You need to do something with your chin. Your breasts are sagging.’” She said, “I suffer from body [dysmorphic] disorder, and I’ve been since I was 13 years old. A lot of people don’t know it’s either hereditary or genetic or comes from a negative experience, where your self-image has been annihilated,” Tami Roman also gave gruesome details of severe measures she took while suffering from the disorder, including getting her mouth “wired”.
