Simon Cowell and longtime partner Lauren Silverman announced their engagement confirming that they are planning to walk down the aisle soon!

A representative from “America’s Got Talent” confirmed the news of engagement without spilling the beans regarding the marriage.

According to the insiders, the couple got engaged in a small event while vacationing recently in Barbados.

“Simon proposed to Lauren on their Barbados vacation over the holidays in front of their son Eric and Lauren’s son Adam,” said the source.

The source added, “Lauren was so surprised and didn’t expect Simon to propose, because Simon previously never thought he was the marrying type. He changed his mind because he realized met his perfect match.”

Lauren “said yes immediately”, according to the source who also said she was ‘extremely emotional’.

“Lauren has been Simon’s rock and supports him unconditionally. They are both so happy and love each other so much. The proposal was a natural next step,” they added.

62-year-old Simon Cowell and 44-year-old Lauren Silverman started their very-public relationship in 2013 after Silverman got divorced by her ex-husband who was a close friend of Cowell as well.

It is said that the extramarital affair between the two led to the much-publicized divorce. The couple shortly welcomed their son Eric to the world in 2014. Lauren Silverman had a son from her previous marriage as well.

An alum of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest asked Simon Cowell on his radio show about marriage plans to which Cowell promptly replied “let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t expect her to be a single mother.”

The reality TV executive recently shed light upon his relation with Silverman stating that they have been “closer than ever as the romance is still alive between them.”

Cowell further stated “Covid-19 was the real test. Like everyone, we were in lockdown for a long time and that’s when you realize whether or not you actually enjoy each other’s company or not. And we really, really did. So to answer your question… yes, the romance is still alive!”
