Heavy rains have lashed parts of the US. with California being the worst hit. With pandemic already wreaking havoc in the US, this sudden spell of rains and storms – has left people to fight for their survival.

California is once again hit by heavy rains and floods – forcing the authorities to close down some sections of Highway 1. In a recent image shared by Monterey Division, shows that a huge chunk of Highway 1 tumbled into the Pacific Ocean after a heavy storm.

The damage is beyond repair for now, and the highway is closed for traffic.

The Highway Patrol has confirmed that the matter is being looked into, and people are advised to use alternative routes for their commute.

In the photo, it can be witnessed that the entire section disappeared after heavy rains struck this region. The rains are expected to continue and therefore, the authorities are taking their time before repairing this section.

At this point, it is difficult to say how much time will it take to reopen this section. The images show that the damage seems to be on a larger scale, and it will take time before it can be functional.

It is a scenic route that people take for traveling. For the time being the people are being asked to change their routes so that this section can be investigated and repaired.

This is not the first time that this area has been closed down for repair work.

It has been a tumultuous few months for the citizens of America, who had had to endure a fractious few weeks following the November 3 Presidential Elections.
