The new COVID-19 variant discovered in the UK has been showing relatively different symptoms than the previous one. It is spreading more quickly than its predecessor.

Muscle pain, continuous cough, and fatigue are common symptoms found in people who have tested positive. It triggers a loss of taste and smell as well as high temperature.

This new strand was first detected in Kent, the UK in September 2020 and since then, the number of cases in the UK has surged, forcing the country to impose lockdown.

A similar variant has been spotted in Brazil and South Africa as well. The UK scientists have claimed that the new variant is 70% more infectious and easily transferable than its predecessor.

According to the virologists, this new COVID-19 virus strand is different from the original one that was first reported in Wuhan, China. The difference is characteristics of the new variant are the sole cause of different symptoms and may affect the immune system of a person’s body differently.

The new strand affected people complained about having continuous cough, muscular pain, and tiredness along with the previous symptoms like shortness of breath, headaches, and loss of touch and smell.

Whether the new strand is more deadly than the previous one or not, is still unknown.

The most alarming thing attached to this new strand is that the vaccines developed won’t be effective.
