Scarlett Johansson won the coveted Generation Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards this Sunday. As the 36-year-old actress was giving her acceptance speech, her husband, Colin Jost put his sense of humor on display as he poured a bowl of slime over her head.
The Black Widow actress was in the middle of her speech when husband Colin Jost made a feeble attempt of adding humor to the situation. “This award is made possible by all of you, in fact,” said Johansson from the comfort of her home as a fresh blob of slime fell on her head, courtesy Colin Jost.
The situation went from hilarious to sour within seconds, as Johansson let out an expletive. As the green slime slowly flowed down her face, her husband was seen smiling ear to ear saying: “MTV! You got slimed!”
As it turns out, Colin Jost was inspired by the wrong award show, a fact pointed by his wife in response to the prank: “That’s Nickelodeon!” She quickly pointed out how the concept of “sliming” was seen widely across the Nickelodeon Network, and MTV had no connection with that tradition whatsoever. It had begun on the series You Can’t Do That On Television and is now an integral part of the Kids Choice Awards of the channel.
In response, Jost apologizes to his wife for dumping a bowl of goo on her head and rushes to get a towel for her, all the while professing his love for her. While Colin Jost was on the search for a towel, the Black Widow fame is seen asking him the slime’s place of origin, to which he replied, “Amazon.”
Although this episode was most likely planned, the duo pulled it off with their impeccable acting and stellar comedic talent. The moment became a highlight of the evening, where many fans took to Twitter to express their praise for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost’s witty creation.

Johansson took her wedding vows with Jost back in October last year, after several years of dating. The couple originally met on the set of Saturday Night Live, where Jost works and Johansson hosted numerous times.
The renowned actress will next be seen in her upcoming film, Black Widow which is set to premiere on July 9 on Disney and in theaters across the globe.
