Fans of the 28-year-old rapper Saweetie can rejoice as she is set to host and perform at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards. The ‘Best Friend’ singer is named Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper and uses the stage name ‘Saweetie’. She was signed to Warner Records when she released her hit single ‘Icy Grl’ earning her RIAA platinum certification.

“Get ready — the Icy Gang is going global!” Saweetie will host the upcoming 2021 star-studded show in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday, 14th November, 2021 at 9pm CET. The triple-threat rapper/actress/entrepreneur will be lending her talents to not only host, but also perform two songs, “Best Friend” and “Back To The Streets,” from her debut album Pretty Bitch Music.” said the MTV EMA’s website announcement.

Saweetie is also nominated in a category, among other global nominees announced earlier. Justin Bieber holds the most nominations with 8 places, followed by Lil Nas X and Doja Cat with 6, The Kid LAROI, Olivia Rodrigo and Ed Sheeran taking 5 places. Voting for the awards is open and left to fans to decide. The award show will also be streamed LIVE from Hungary for fans around the world.

While announcing Saweetie wrote, “Anything can happen at the MTV EMAs. The EMAs celebrate the universal language of music for the whole world to see and I can’t wait to get out there and perform because I’ve got some surprises of my own!”

Among performers other than Saweetie, we have Maneskin, Maluma, German pop singer Petras as other performers are still to be announced. The event is going to be broadcasted to 180 countries all over the world.

Saweetie is a fan favorite not just because of her great music, but also efforts to give back and uplift her community of black and brown individuals. She started the Icy Baby Foundation with her grandmother Roxane Harper, which will work through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and technology training to empower black and brown individuals to work towards their future.  As the star is set to host the upcoming music award show, fans are excited and ecstatic to experience it live or from their homes.
