Music legend Carlos Santana suffered a medical emergency during his performance in the Michigan concert and collapsed on stage.
According to the management team of Santana, he suffered a medical emergency during his concert in Michigan.
The statement released by his management team stated “Santana was over-taken by heat exhaustion and dehydration”.
The concert was being conducted at the Pine Knob Music Theater which is supposedly an outdoor open space more like an amphitheater in the area of Clarkston. Clarkston is just about 40 miles from Detroit.
Alisa Zee who was attending the concert stated “he had just started a song that was about joy and love. He called for healing for the world. It was during that song that he collapsed.”
Different videos emerged on social media made by the fans in which the famous musician is seen perched on one corner of the stage before he dramatically stops playing his guitar.
A medical attendant came to the rescue and the crew held a black paper tarp to block the view from the fans.
The artist waved at the fans as he was taken to the back of the stage for initial medical treatment.
The statement on Santana’s official Facebook page said,
“Carlos was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and is doing well.”
A short while later when Santana was doing better he posted a small personal message on Facebook where he is seen thanking his fans and followers for their “precious prayers.”
“Forgot to eat and drink water so I dehydrated and passed out,” he stated.
The legendary musician was supposed to be performing next in Pennsylvania on Wednesday with Earth, Wind, and Fire but the concert has been reportedly postponed for now.
