According to a recent news update, an Air Force Pilot ejected from the jet right before his plane crashed at the end of the Salt Lake City runway this Wednesday evening.
In addition, the jet F-35 A Lighting II crashed at the north ending of the Hill Air Force Base runway at an estimated time of 6:15 p.m., the 388th Fighter Wing highlighted in the series of tweets.
According to the statement given by the Air Force Unit, “The pilot ejected, was recovered and has been taken to a local medical center for observation,”
They further added that on and off-base emergency crews also responded to the wreck.
A number of people have reported the incident at the Salt Lake City runway seeing the smoke from the crash from across Weber and Davis counties, according to a source.
The jet crash also caused a small wildfire, the news outlet reported. Efforts are being done since then to suppress the fire and it is still in continuation.
