Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will spend their day in New York today. This will be their first visit to the city and they are scheduled to meet the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio.
The Duke & Duchess of Sussex will be joined by the Mayor and the Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul as they will visit One World Observatory.
The One World Observatory is located at One World Trade Center on 100-102 floors, which is considered to be the tallest building in America.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will later be seen at the Global Citizen Live event to be broadcasted from Central Park on Saturday. They are on a mission to “continue their urgent work with world leaders in the pursuit of global vaccine equity to end the COVID-19 pandemic for everyone, everywhere,” stated the organization while revealing that Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will be part of the live broadcast.
This visit is being considered as one of the phenomenal steps in the lives of Sussex-es after stepping down from the royal duties last year. The couple is all set to start their new life in a new territory.
According to the reports, Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will not be accompanied by their children Archie and Lilibet at the events.
The official visit to New York also marks the return of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to work after taking months off following the birth of Lilibet, their daughter in May 2021.
The couple is very passionate about educating people regarding the benefits of the vaccine and has been vocal about it. Earlier they had released a statement “over the past year, our world has experienced pain, loss, and struggle – together. Now we need to recover and heal- together. We can’t leave anyone behind. We will all benefit. We will all be safer when everyone everywhere has equal access to the vaccine.”
They further stated “we must pursue equitable vaccine distribution, and in that, restore faith in our common humanity. This mission couldn’t be more critical or important.”
