Prince Harry has stirred up controversy by his remarks on the First Amendment, calling the policy “bonkers” during a podcast last week. These comments were made during an episode of Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s American Expert episode.

In the podcast, the Duke of Sussex talked in great depth about his new life with Meghan Markle in Los Angeles. He also cited a case of “media frenzy” that reached new heights while he stayed at film producer and actor, Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills lavish home.

While he spoke about advocating for mental health, Prince Harry switched to talking about the First Amendment which is a “huge subject,” he concluded.  He acknowledged that his life had changed significantly, and he hadn’t been in Los Angeles long enough to comment on the contents of the bill.

“But you can find a loophole in anything,” said the Duke of Sussex, in reference to the First Amendment. He continued by saying that his understanding of the Amendment was fairly correct, but it was too silly to elicit a detailed response from his side.

Although the podcast was aired last week, his First Amendment comments didn’t sit too well with renowned US politicians who took to Twitter to criticize the Duke of Sussex for his unsolicited remarks. With confidence and patriotism at its height, they rebuked the Duke and called him ignorant. Moreover, one of the officials blatantly told Prince Harry to return to the United Kingdom if he has issues with the First Amendment.

Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted his disapproval of the Duke’s comments in a cynical manner: “Nice he can say that” said the 50-year-old U.S Senator. Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly also chided Prince Harry for his foolishness in doubting the credibility of the First Amendment.

Fox News host Laura Ingram also jumped on the bandwagon and added mockingly: “Don’t let the doorknob hit you, Windsor.” Even former Brexit leader Nigel Farage took to Twitter to add his own perspective to the mix. He declared how Prince Harry has ‘lost the plot’ and if these comments become a mere routine, he would be ousted from the US as well.

Many Prince Harry’s supporters found it difficult to defend his critical remarks about the First Amendment. They came to his rescue by stating how the Duke was honest about his bare minimum knowledge of the Amendment and didn’t use it wrongly to fulfill his own political agenda.

Other supporters also declared how the media is in a habit of spinning around negative words with regard to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. One such user made a note of tabloids shedding light on one comment on the First Amendment, conveniently leaving out the portion where he spoke about the importance of mental health.
