Meghan Markle might be called to testify in  Prince Andrew’s case, says the lawyer.

The Duchess of Sussex could serve as a potential candidate to assist Virginia Roberts Giuffre to fight the lawsuit against Prince Andrew.

Duke of York has been sued by an American-Australian campaigner, who alleges Prince Andrew harassed her when she was just 17.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who has filed the lawsuit against the Prince, further alleges that she has been sexually assaulted on three different occasions in the U.S. Virgin Islands, London, and New York.

However, the Prince has denied the accusation.

Giuffre attorney David Boies said, “Markle has ‘important knowledge,’ about Prince Andrew’s behavior that would help the case”.

“She is somebody we can count on, to tell the truth,” he told the Daily Beast. Meghan Markle was a “close companion to Prince Andrew and therefore probably saw what he did” he added.

The attorney representing Giuffre has listed three important reasons as to why the Suits star could be a potential candidate in this case.

“One; she is in the U.S. so we have jurisdiction over her. Two; she is somebody who obviously, at least for a period of time, was a close associate of Prince Andrew and hence is in a position to perhaps have seen what he did, and perhaps if not to have seen what he did to have heard people talk about it,” he revealed to the news outlet.

“Because of her past association with him, she may very well have important knowledge, and will certainly have some knowledge. Three; she is somebody who we can count on, to tell the truth. She checks all three boxes,” Giuffre’s attorney added.

An official decision has yet to be made whether to call the Duchess of Sussex to testify in the court.

The attorney also seems interested in calling some other potential deposition subjects from Andrew’s life.

“We would likely take one or two depositions of people close to Andrew who would have knowledge of his actions,” said Boies. “That might include his ex-wife. It could possibly be his brother.”
