The Lockheed Martin plant was locked down by the White Settlement police in the aftermath of a shooting incident outside the main entry gate that left one man dead.

According to the police, one person was found dead in the early hours of Thursday outside the main entry gate of the Lockheed Martin plant. The police were informed around 5:30 a.m. the officers responded immediately from the offices located at Texas 341 Sour and 1 Lockheed Boulevard.

The White Settlement police department released an official statement saying that “this is not an active shooter incident. We believe this to be an isolated shooting incident at Lockheed Martin’s main entry gate where a person is deceased. Employees should seek alternate routes and avoid Spur 341.”

The incident is being termed as an isolated incident. The area was locked down after a suspicious device was found near the deceased man.

The white settlement police department stated that a person came to the main gate of the Lockheed Martin plant which is near Clifford Street just minutes before 5:30 am. An unknown incident occurred in that vicinity resulting in the death of the man.

Christopher Cook, the White Settlement chief of police stated that they cannot reject the idea of suicide. The man in question might have committed suicide.

No one else was injured in the incident.

The employees of the facility were advised to seek different routes to reach the premises and avoid Texas 341 Spur by all means as the main gate will remain closed until further notice. This is a developing story and more information will be provided soon
