FINALLY! Some good news for award seasons ahead!

Oscars revoke Quarantine requirements for the audience arriving from outside Los Angeles before entering the Dolby Theater at the end of March.

“EXCLUSIVE: Academy Awards attendees from outside Los Angeles will not have to quarantine at all before heading to the Dolby Theater on March 27”, Deadline Hollywood Tweeted.

Based on recommendations and advice from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s health advisors, the decision to eliminate the mandatory quarantine requirement was reached just Thursday afternoon.

The LA county, which is home to several Hollywood stars, has come to its pre-pandemic patterns as all the other Covid SOPs have been relaxed for the Oscars 2022.

However, domestic and international visitors will be required to take a PCR test on their responsibility before settling in the town. Travelers will be provided with concierge or lab services near Tinseltown. They need negative PCR tests to be allowed to head to the event.

To enter the Dolby Theater on March 27, the attendees and nominees must show 2 negative PCR tests. According to the AMPAS SOPs, one PCR test should be taken on March 24, and the second one must be taken two days later. If an attendee lives outside LA, they must take the second PCR test after arriving in the city.

The current year’s SOP guidelines are less strict than the previous year’s, which required proof of two vaccine shots and compliance with mask mandates.

The previous month, Deadline confirmed that the award show presenter and performers would not be required to show the vaccination proof. However, attendees and nominees will.

Individuals who are unvaccinated need to provide religious or medical exemption to enter the venue.

Since Feb 2022, after witnessing a decline in the Covid cases, LA has relieved almost all the Covid preventive measures for businesses. However, it is noted that organizers for, “Indoor Mega Events — concerts and such — still must verify the full vaccination status or pre-entry negative Covid-19 viral test result of all attendees.” Soon they will be lifted as well. However, in Los Angeles, where the Oscars 2022 will take place, “to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 applies to the following covered indoor locations” for all live show venue guests. Apart from medical and religious reasons, there is no exemption allowed for the unvaccinated.
