And just like that, organizers of Oscars 2022 have revealed the list of the first round of presenters!
Lady Gaga, Zoë Kravitz, Chris Rock, Kevin Costner, Youn Yuh-jung, and Rosie Perez are all included in the first-round presenters for the much-awaited award show of the year.
“Lady Gaga, Zoë Kravitz, Chris Rock, Kevin Costner, Rosie Perez, and Youn Yuh-Jung are among the first announced presenters for the 2022 #Oscars”, DiscussingFilm Tweeted.
“Movies inspire us, entertain us and unite us across the globe,” said the show producer Will Packer in a statement. “That’s the precise goal of the show this year, and we’re thrilled to welcome the first of a stellar lineup joining the Oscars stage to help us celebrate the power of film and honor the year’s best in filmmaking.”
While Lady Gaga made it to the list of the first-round presenters, she is not in the nominations of the ‘Best Actress’ award category for the Oscars 2022.
Lady Gaga’s absence from the ‘Best Actress’ awards category came as a shock to the audience as the ‘Million Reasons’ singer was previously nominated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Awards, and the BAFTAs. Her movie ‘House of Gucci’ is however nominated for the best makeup and hairstyling award at Oscars 2022.
In 2018, the 35-year-old American singer and songwriter received an Oscar for her movie A Star Is Born’s famous song, ‘Shallow’. Moreover, she was nominated three times for the same movie for the Best Actress award.
This year for the 94th anniversary, the show nominated Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Penélope Cruz (Parallel Mothers), Kristen Stewart (Spencer), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), and Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos) for Best Actress award.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga celebrated the House of Gucci nomination at the Oscars and congratulated her makeup and styling team including; Frederic Aspiras, Göran Lundström, and AnnaCarin Lock on Instagram.
“To all the nominees this year, congratulations on all your hard work, dedication, your nomination, and YOUR magic — you all deserve major recognition for what was a truly beautiful landscape of performances and accomplishments this past year,” wrote the ‘Perfect Illusion singer. “Your dedication during Covid, your huge hearts, and your ability to tell amazing stories is a gift to the whole world during what is for many a very hard time. Congratulations my friends. Bravo!”
