Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have been locking horns for their children’s custody for quite some time now. Olivia won the battle recently for her son Otis and daughter Daisy.
Both have decided to move forward and put the interest of their children first.
An insider stated that “she and Jason don’t speak to each other, so they have help communicating about the custody schedule,” and “wants to focus on what’s best for the kids.”
The insider further quoted that “she hopes they can figure out the best living situation for everyone.”
Both Wilde and Sudeikis have been battling legally to parent their children on different grounds namely in Los Angeles, New York City, and London.
A close friend and fellow actor Ted Lasso recently stated that he is hoping that the former couple decides to parent their children in New York City as this is where they lived previously as a family and their children were born in this city.
But to Lasso’s dismay “both Judge Powell and this Referee agreed that New York was not the home state of the subject children; but rather California was the children’s home state,” the petition documents stated.
“This court finds that New York does not have jurisdiction to hear the custody petitions as New York is not the home state of the subject children,” the judges added.Wilde had filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles stating in a statement that “since Jason has made it clear that we will not be able to work this out for our children’s sake outside of the court system, I filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles.”
The reason behind this petition was Olivia Wilde receiving the custody papers during an important presentation she was making on stage while attending the CinemaCon in April this year.
Sudeikis had reiterated in his counter filing about no intention of embarrassing Wilde at the CinemaCon saying, “I understand that the process server had only done her job; however, I deeply regret what happened,” said the actor. “Olivia’s talk was an important event for Olivia, both professionally and personally, and I am very, very sorry that the incident marred her special moment.”
Olivia Wilde won the custody of her children after Sudeikis had filed a motion to take the children to New York and have them live with him but the court dismissed his petition ruling out that the home state of the kids is California where Olivia lives.
Olivia posted a jubilant picture of herself on Instagram after winning the custody battle against ex-Jason Sudeikis.
