Findlay, Ohio – A Highway Patrol trooper in Ohio suffered injuries after being shot on Wednesday on southbound I-75 amidst a traffic stop – the shooter is on the run, reports suggest.
As per the reports received from Attorney General’s Office, Ohio, the victim’s name is Josef Brobst, graduated from Defiance College.

As per the reports received from Attorney General’s Office, Ohio, the victim’s name is Josef Brobst, graduated from Defiance College.
According to OSHP, the victim, identified as Brobst, stopped a black color Chevy Suburban of 2016 model on Wednesday for overspeeding. The incident took place around 11:05 at night near milepost 160, Hancock County. Also, the car had a Michigan registration.
When the trooper stopped the suspect Robert Tramaine Hathorn for a speeding violation, a struggle arose between the two.

The struggle included Brobst’s licensed weapon that allegedly resulted in sustaining a bullet shot wound. As per the Attorney General’s Office, Ohio, Hathorn pulled the trigger.
Right after the incident, Brobst was driven to Blanchard Valley Hospital for wounds treatment, which according to the sources, did not seem “Life-threatening”. Cops say, Brobst, injured his lower extremities.
OSHP took Brobst’s weapon under their possession.
Hathorn after shooting, the trooper fled the scene and was reportedly at large. Police called him dangerous and armed.
On researching, it was found out that Hathorn, who is currently 42, has been involved in cases like assaulting, obstructing cops twice in 2003 and later in 2010.
As per the police description, the shooter is a black male with dark brown eyes. His height can probably be measured at 5 foot 10 inches.
Troy Roth, superintendent of Findlay City Schools, says that the school and Liberty Benton have suspended the day’s activities. As the officials investigating the case informed the shooter’s location somewhere between the two states, Roth decided to suspend the activities for the day to ensure safety.
At 4:20 am, police recovered Hathorn’s car on County Road 140 close to Township Road 89.
