North Carolina – An SUV plows down two brothers in a restaurant killing them instantly this week.
According to the police, the two brothers were having breakfast at a Hardee’s restaurant when an unruly SUV crashed into the eatery.
The horrific crash took place at the fast-food restaurant approximately at 9:45 am on Sunday in the area of Wilson which is about 40 miles east of Raleigh.
The police stated that a Lincoln Aviator hit the brothers namely Christopher Ruffin who was 58, and the older brother Clay Ruffin who was 62. Both brothers hailed from Wilson.
An eyewitness named Gabriela Palacios Alonzo stated that she was in the drive-thru area of the same eatery when she heard the employee shriek and scream. She walked over to the building and said that one of the deceased was already down on the sidewalk and was in a “bad state”
The police pronounced Christopher Ruffin dead at the location whereas the other brother was rushed to the nearby hospital, ECU Health Medical Center in Greeneville but succumbed to his injuries.
The eyewitnesses claim that an SUV in silver color barged into the eatery from the front window, finally halting in the dining area piled up with broken glasses and the twisted frames of the windows.
A third customer was also injured and was examined by the emergency medical representative at the location but his injuries were minor and were not taken to the hospital.
An employee of Hardee’s stated that they found a tongue boy stuck underneath the SUV and was rescued while his father was in the washroom at the time of the crash.
“When (the father) came out of the bathroom and went through all the glass, he found and pulled the boy from underneath the car,” the unnamed employee of Hardee’s stated. “The little boy was screaming and hollering because he was scared and had cuts on the top of his head.”
The driver of the uncontrolled SUV was identified as Jesse Lawrence aged 78 hailing from the Wilson area as well.
Lawrence was taken to the Wilson Medical Center and was released later on.
No charges have been announced against the driver of the SUV. The investigation has begun but police believe that the crash is not a targeted one.
