North Carolina: A shooting episode at a shopping center ended up in a twisted family drama when the accused suspect of the shooting turned out to be a close relative of the victims.

According to the officials, three family members were killed when a person opened fire at a vehicle at North Carolina shopping center. It turns out it was the father who killed his teenage son along with his sister and mother.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the father opened fire on a vehicle that had people inside resulting in the death of his own mother, sister, and a teenage son.

The man identified as Wilbert Lamont Robinson is 40-year-old man and is charged with murder. The information regarding his attorney has not been released.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the officers responded immediately when a report was filed of gunshots being heard in a shopping center on 15 January. The possible suspect was also shifted to the hospital because of a “self-inflicted gunshot wound” in which he survived and is said to be in a stable condition.

The shooting incident took place at the landfall shopping center located in the east of Wilmington Riverwalk.

“Three people from Hampstead were tragically killed after a man opened fire on them in the vehicle …” officials said in their news release. “From a preliminary investigation, it appears that the suspect and victims arrived in the same vehicle together prior to the shooting.”

The teenage son’s name was not released but the other victims were identified as 48-years-old Trina Lynnette Robinson, sister of the suspect, and 65-year-old Diretta Marie Robinson who is the mother of the alleged suspect.

“I can’t even believe it,” Michaela Robinson, daughter of Trina Robinson, said. “She was giving and caring. She loved her family more than anything.” The motive behind the shooting episode is still unknown. The killer will be facing three counts of first-degree murder as well as opening gunfire on a vehicle.
