Myles Garrett, an All-Pro defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, is still being treated in the hospital as doctors evaluate the non-life-threatening injuries he sustained on Monday after practice after he was involved in an accident in which his Porsche got flipped.
The accident occurred a few hours after the team’s practice on a rural road. The Cleveland Browns didn’t provide any information on Garrett’s injuries or health in their statement.
Nicole Lynn, who represents Garett, issued a statement that was shared on Twitter, in which she claimed that the celebrity was “alert and responsive” while undergoing medical treatment. She said that “we are waiting to learn the extent of his injuries.”
Lynn expressed gratitude on behalf of Garrett’s family to the medical staff for rescuing the 26-year-old male driver and an unnamed female passenger from the wreckage of the car driven by Garrett and bringing them to a nearby hospital.
Lynn indicated to the Associated Press in a text message that Myles Garrett did not suffer any broken bones, and she anticipates that he will be released from the hospital either late on Monday or early on Tuesday.
An accident involving a rollover was reported to have occurred at around 3 p.m. by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. When the law enforcement officers arrived, they discovered a gray Porsche that had significant damage off to the right side of the road.
The accident is still being looked into by the highway police, but they have said that they do not believe that alcohol or drugs had a role in the accident. Both Garrett and his companion had their seatbelts fastened.
Photos of the wrecked sports vehicle, which has a top speed of 205 miles per hour, were published by a number of regional media outlets.
After a long weekend celebrating their 29-17 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home the previous Thursday night, Garrett and his teammates were back to work on Monday at the team’s facility in Berea, Ohio.
Because of the accident, it is not yet clear whether or not Garrett will be able to participate in the game that will take place in Atlanta on Sunday.
