Three persons were taken to a local hospital after a Red Airplane arrived at Miami International Airport and then caught fire.
An official from the Miami Dade Aviation Department informed ABC News that the aircraft from Santo Domingo had 126 passengers on board when it landed at 5:30 pm.
In a statement given to ABC News, the Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the plane’s landing gear, a McDonnell Douglas MD-80, had disintegrated as it landed. It’s still unclear whether that’s what caused the blaze.
The aircraft flew from the Dominican Republic’s Las Americas International Airport, according to the FAA.
Miami Dade Aviation Department communications director Greg Chin says the fire has been contained and passengers will be taken to the terminal by bus.
According to Chin, three persons were sent to local hospitals after the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking into this.
