The 95th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is back to its pre-pandemic form. However, this time, Baby Yoda is gonna join the party for the first time.

After last year’s uncrowded event, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is en-route this year in full force. The 95th celebration for the department store will take place on Thursday, 25th November 2021 in its conventional way covering a 2.5-mile road through the upper-east side, NY.

Since the 2021’s parade is going to match the pre-pandemic levels, here’s a breakdown of what to expect in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

New Balloon Giants:

The New balloon giants that will be joining the parade include Baby Yoda,  Ada Twist, Eevee, and Pikachu. They will be up for the show for spectators. However, the public will be required to have vaccination cards with them for proof, while vaccinated adults can accompany children under 12.

The returning balloons for the event include Astronaut Snoopy, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Pillsbury Doughboy,  Papa Smurf, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Boss Baby, Sonic the Hedgehog, and  Red Titan.

Back in 2019, the powerful wind gusts threatened the balloon show. However, the threat has seemed to ward off this year as meteorologists say, “this year’s parade weather looks great, with temperatures in the 50s and winds forecasted at 10-12 mph”.

According to a city regulation which was laid down in 1998 and came after an incident that injured four people when a massive cat balloon hit a street light, the authorities must not fly giant balloons if winds exceed 23 mph.

Live Performances:

As always, minus the pandemic time, this year’s event will be star-studded with kids above 12 joining the parade. However, it is still yet to determine whether kids under 12 can join as they just recently became eligible for vaccination.

Marching bands for the parade that had been expected to join in 2020 will probably be participating this year – says Macy’s.

The six cast members from Broadway will be there and “Wicked” and “Moulin Rouge! The Musical”. Moreover, the spectators will get to watch the cast production of the NBC live show, “Annie”.

“For our 95th celebration, Macy’s has created a spectacle to remember featuring a dazzling array of high-flying balloons, animated floats, and incredible performers. We can’t wait to help New York City and the nation kick off the holiday season with the return of this cherished tradition,” said Will Coss, the executive producer of the parade.

Other top-notch celebs joining the parade include Jimmie Allen, Rob Thomas, Darren Criss,  Andy Grammer, Chris Lane,  Muppets from “Sesame Street”, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Rowland, Kristin Chenoweth, Miss America Camille Schrier, Mickey Guyton, and three of the hosts of “Blue’s Clues”.
