If you as an individual have younger siblings or children of your own, you might want to hop on the free information train that is the internet. We have all had instances of questions shot at us without break or remorse because kids are curious and they want to know everything. Well, you can just say ‘Let me Google that for you’ and invent another train of curiosity for them.
Despite the age bracket, Google is that bot mastermind that will answer any and everything for you. All you have to do is ask. Many times you don’t even have to ask, you just have to mention something in one of your social media accounts and Google will start showing you Ads for that relevant thing. Have you ever randomly talked about shoes to your friend, later gone to Google for an unrelated query, and found ads for shoes being sold in your geographic area? We all have. That’s how their data collection and analysis works.
But that is still advanced learning of how Google works, a large number of people are still unaware of the fact that you can ask Google any of your queries, regardless of the problem. The thing with a phenomenon that becomes as universal as Google has, is that people take time to catch up. Many are on their way, but many still don’t know you can just put your entire question, no matter how long, on Google and find an appropriate answer to help you.
Gone are the days when people used to go through multiple books to find an answer to their questions. This was fun in itself, but we’ve come far from them. There are still many forms of research that require you to huddle back to the library and spend your time reading books and resources on your relevant topic. But even finding which resources or books you should read is easier if you take Google’s help. Like we said, ‘Let me Google that for you is not used in vain.
The phrase is now used as a way to remind people of the resource they have in the form of Google. With the ascent of accessible internet around the world, it is becoming increasingly easier to just take out your phone to look something up, anywhere. Previously, there were still restrictions when internet access was restricted to your PC and you had to wait to get to your home/office to look things up on your desktop. Not anymore. You have smartphones and information is now available at your fingertips.
As a curious kid, this can be a blessing to your inquisitive mind. If you are a teenager, you are likely to have your personal smartphone by now, as it is necessary for the larger academic experience too. Not to mention, ever since remote learning became more common and popular after the pandemic, the use was reported to be ever higher. Despite all these things, if you are still in the dark about how rewarding access to the internet can be for you as an information-seeking person, you need to do some reading. Or you can Google it.
There is no query and category of information that you might not be able to find if you look it up on Google. Try it right now, no matter how absurd it sounds, if not the exact answer, it will lead you to a direction that might get you the answer. Just take whatever your question is, and put it directly into the search bar, as you would ask it from any person. For tutorials with entire executions, you will be led to YouTube through Google, like this link. If you use social media accounts where people come asking some random questions and see people commenting, ‘Let me Google that for you, they’re leading them in the right direction.
