Kim Kardashian West stated that she dodged a ‘fashion emergency’ at the WSJ Magazine Awards 2021 right before accepting her award, all thanks to her popular brand SKIMS.
The founder of the shapewear brand SKIMS was honored at the prestigious award function for her contribution and dedication as a business mogul and recognition as a brand innovator.
According to the reports, as Kim Kardashian marched towards the stage to accept her award, her dress started to unzip and it was unzipped right before she headed towards the stage; exposing her skin beneath the SKIMS shapewear that she was wearing inside.
Her dress was made out of leather from the SKIMS x Fendi upcoming collection.
The artistic director of Fendi, Kim Jones was nearby and thankfully helped Kim Kardashian to zip up the dress back before she could accept the award on stage.
In her acceptance speech, she did not forget to give a heartfelt shout-out to Kim Jones, with whom she is also working on her latest shapewear collection.
Kim Kardashian stated on stage “Thank you to Kim Jones because I just had a little fashion emergency. Thank god I had SKIMS on, or this would have been a very different kind of show tonight.”
After briefly stating what she had just experienced momentarily in a joking way Kim Kardashian continued to talk about how her career has progressed over the past few weeks. She stated “Fifteen years ago when I was starting my career I could have never dreamed that I would have been getting an innovator award for brands. Back in the day, I would have been the face of any brand if they would have asked me.”
Kim Kardashian is known to be a fashion icon all over the world. She was dolled up in an amazing brown leather dress complementing it with a matching pair of gloves and accessories of snakeskin and diamond jewelry. The dress was from Fendi which will be launching in collaboration with SKIMS on November 9, 2021.
