The most prestigious Kennedy Center Honors took place at the legendary Kennedy Center Opera House and the night was as spell-bounding as it has been famous for since its pre-pandemic days.

Kennedy Center Honors gave creative greatness tributes to quite a new leap of artisans.

The honors took place in front of the audience after 2019. This was the 44th Annual Kennedy Center Honors as music greats such as Motown founder Berry Gordy, heavy classical singers Bette Midler and Joni Mitchell as well as the great artist from opera Justino Diaz were paid homely tributes.

Lorne Michaels who is the driving force behind the famous show “Saturday Night Live” was also presented with a much deserving tribute.

One of the biggest feats of the night was having the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden in the audience. This tradition took place after 5 years. The last time any President of America joined the audience for Kennedy Center Honors was back in 2016.

Apart from the President of America and the First Lady, quite a lot of politicians were present in the audience such as Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Pete Buttigieg the Secretary of Transportation, and the former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich were also presented settled comfortably in different entertainment luminaries.

Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Brandi Carlile, Billy Porter, Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, and Chita Rivera were some of the performers who paid homage to the honorees of the night.

Saturday Night Live cast both past and present were also amongst the performers of the night.

2200 people attended the Honors ceremony and sang and danced throughout the evening especially at the amazing finale performed by Stevie Wonder at “higher ground”.

The audience of the night was asked to show the vaccination proof before their attendance.

The Kennedy Center Honors ceremony will be aired on CBS on 22nd December 2021.
