Rapper Kanye West is currently under investigation in a battery offence after he allegedly punched a fan. Early at 3 a.m. on Thursday, the LAPD responded to a call regarding the battery offence where the person named West as a suspect, so far, no arrests have been made in the investigation.
“A battery report was completed with Kanye West as a named suspect. No arrests have been made and the incident is being investigated by our Newton Division,” said the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in a statement regarding the altercation. Kanye West was reportedly hanging out with multiple celebrities including actress Julia Fox, Madonna, and Floyd Mayweather at the hot spot Delilah in West Hollywood, hours before the timing of the incident and when it was reported. A social media video was posted with all of them listening to Drake together.

Different reports have a varied account of events from the day but TMZ posted a video showing Kanye West looking upset with a man lying on the ground. Reports claim the rapper struck the fan upon being asked for an autograph. West hit the fan twice, once in the neck and once in the head.
According to TMZ’s source, the entire incident took place outside the building when West asked the group of people outside “… not to take photos and said something about them not understanding what he’s going through right now. When someone replied that it’s OK, we all go through family stuff … that’s when Ye allegedly unloaded the 2 punches.”
