American Actress Juliana Harkavy, famously known for playing Black Canary across the Arrowverse is gearing up for ABC’s ‘L.A. Law’ revival.
“EXCLUSIVE: ‘Arrow’ alumna Juliana Harkavy has been cast as a lead in ABC drama pilot ‘L.A. Law,’ a revival of the iconic Steven Bochco legal drama. She joins original cast members Blair Underwood and Corbin Bernsen”, Deadline Hollywood Tweeted.
Harkavy will reportedly join Corbin Bernsen and Blair Underwood, who starred in the 1996’s original show as Arnie Becker and Jonathan Rollins, respectively. The revival series will also include some new cast – Hari Nef (Transparent), Ian Duff (We Own This City), John Harlan Kim (9-1-1), and Toks Olagundoye (Castle).
For the updated take on the 1990s legal drama, Juliana Harkavy will be playing a “legal badass” in the role of Yvette Cabrera. She and Alana (Nef) will fight in the courtroom over a controversial ‘headline snatching case, made all the more complicated by the pair’s past as lovers’.
Despite unresolved relationship problems, there is undeniable sexual chemistry portrayed in the show. Things later get messier when Yvette joins Alana’s law firm as a new partner.
The pilot, which purportedly, Ubah Mohamed and Marc Guggenheim will write, focuses more on the revamp of McKenzie Brackman as a “litigation firm specializing in only the most high-profile, boundary-pushing and incendiary cases.”
The pilot will further see the idealistic Rollins becoming conservative and serious as he clashes with other younger attorneys and lawyers at the firm.
Harkavy rose to fame for her iconic role Dinah Drake/Black Canary on the Arrow series by The CW. She first joined for a recurring role in the 5th season and later got promoted to permanent for the 6th season. The L.A. Law’s updated version will be executive produced by Guggenheim, Mohamed, and Underwood alongside Jesse Bochco and Dayna Bochco via Anthony Hemingway and Steven Bochco Productions who will be directing the 20th Television produce as well.
