Julia Lemigova, the first-ever lesbian star of the Housewives’ franchise opens up about how her kids and family helped her in coming out.

Julia Lemigova stated that “she’s come a long long way from being beyond in the closet to showcasing her marriage to tennis star Martina Navratilova.”

Real Housewives of Miami star Julia Lemigova and her famous tennis star wife Martina Navratilova made history last week by becoming the “first-ever same-sex couple” to be featured in a reality-television franchise.

The former Russian supermodel opened up recently about her long struggle regarding her sexual status as well as her relationship with her wife. It was just recently when she publicly declared her marriage to the tennis star.

Martina Navratilova is known to be one of the most prominent athletes of the world who came out as an LGBT+ member.

Julia stated “when I saw my two girls standing up to their friends and saying, yeah we have two moms. And I said them, and it’s like, ‘Oh my God. My girls came out faster than me! And then it was like, Boom Boom. I never, ever looked back,” Lemigova said.

Lemigova’s two daughters are of 21 and 14 years and are from Julia’s prior relationships with the tennis star.

She further stated, “it just happened, and I needed some push. I needed some support, it’s so important for anybody when you have your family, whether it’s your kids or your parents or loved ones – just supporting and helping you.”

The Housewives of Miami premiered last week and the former miss USSR received an “overwhelming” response from the viewers upon her lesbian marriage.

She stated that the response “melts my heart completely.”

“I am thrilled to create this relationship with my fans, with people in general, and shine the light on our life, how we live – again, love has no gender – and normalize what should have been normal, that is normal” stated Julia.

She further added, “in Russia, you don’t really talk about these subjects, and they’re calling me and supporting me, and they’re saying how much they think it’s great that we’re doing it and congratulating me.”
