The People Choice Awards that went on air on Tuesday saw a surprising bond between two popular personalities!
Broadcasted live straight from Santa Monica, California, the Award show night concluded with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson getting the People’s Champion award from his “tequila drinking buddy,” Chairperson of Amazon Jeff Bezos.
Bezos shocked the audience when he walked onto the stage, announcing that 2021’s “People’s Champion is someone not only larger than life but also strong, handsome (and) bald.”
“Hey, it’s a good look,” he joked.
Johnson has not just been winning awards, but her fans’ hearts as well. Previously the outstanding actor received the People Choice award for male movie and comedy movie star. When the actor walked onto the stage with his remarkable aura, he gave Bezos a big warm hug, though he gave his last award to someone he believed was the worthy recipient.
“I used to call myself the People’s Champion,” said the star before inviting Shushana from the Make-A-Wish Foundation onto the stage. “What it means to be the People’s Champion is so much bigger than me… I wanna give you (Shushana) this because you represent everything that it means to be a people’s champion.”
After last year’s virtual event that happened amid the pandemic, the award show made a grand comeback this year with a crowded ceremony honoring stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian West, and Halle Berry this year.
After winning the Fashion Icon award, Kim Kardashian West returned to the stage with Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner to attend the best reality show award. The trio made the most of their moments on stage as they teased the crowd for their upcoming reality show.

“We’ve closed this one chapter but a new one is coming,” said mommy Kris Jenner. “We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you coming in 2022 on Hulu.”
When Halle Berry received the People’s icon award, she gave a shoutout to her “two little kids”.
“They have to lose so much time with their mommy, because I get to go work and do what I love,” said Berry to her kids, who were watching their mommy from home. “I hope you find something in life that you can love and you can do with as much vigor and as much zest as I do what I do” she added.
