The bombshell defamation case of Johnny Depp will likely be resumed on Monday with his ex-wife Amber Heard getting back on the stand to explain the explosive and chaotic five months of their marriage.
Amber Heard, the 36-year-old, is expected to inform the Fairfax, Va., jury regarding the restraining order she has filed against Johnny Depp, 58, in which he has allegedly threatened to kill her during a Christmas trip to the Bahamas in 2015, which further details about the dramatic divorce of the couple the following year.
She might be grilled during the course of cross-examination on abuse claims she has made against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor, which range from an alleged possible broken nose to the cavity searches, by the end of the day.
The much anticipated and highly watched court proceedings, which were on a break last week due to a conference being rescheduled by the judge, are now set to resume at 9 a.m.
A spokesperson for Heard told The Post her team expects Depp’s attorney to “pound away on the victim” instead of trying to “argue the facts.”
“We fear it will be equal parts shameful and desperate. And, the overwhelming evidence — the truth — is not on Depp’s side,” the rep said.
“The one thing we suspect Depp’s attorneys will avoid is the central issue of this trial,” the spokesperson added, “does Amber or any woman have the First Amendment Right of Freedom of Speech.”
The week-long courtroom saga continued which was completely filled with jaw-dropping moments that includes different pictures portraying Johnny Depp zonked out after alleged drug binges.
“Depp is in a good headspace after spending a week with friends and appreciates [and] is humbled by the support he’s received so far,” the source said.
In the current court trial, the Actress Ellen Barkin, 68, who was supposedly dating Johnny Depp while shooting for the movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” in 1998, is likely to appear through video conference. Previously, she discussed an incident in which she highlighted that Depp lashed out at her and threw a wine bottle.
In the upcoming days, Amber Heard will likely be questioned about the incident in which the tip of Depp’s Finger was severed by a vodka bottle, which he added that she threw at him during a fight in Australia.
During her cross-examination this week, Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez “plans to call out Ms. Heard on the many lies and inconsistencies in her timeline that have changed considerably over the last six years,” a source close to the actor informed the news sources.
Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million. He was previously given a testimony that claimed that he is actually the real victim of the volatile relationship, and that is why he brought the suit against her to “clear my name.”
Amber Heard has already taken steps necessary to describe the harrowing attacks, which range from the first time Depp allegedly struck her to an incident in which she highlighted Depp broke her nose in a rage of jealousy.
She further testified that he ripped her dress off and “shoved his fingers inside me” because he believed that she was hiding drugs.
Depp denies all such claims of abuse.
Closing arguments are expected on May 27.
