JayDaYoungan, a promising young rapper from Louisiana, passed away after being shot multiple times on Wednesday night outside of his house in the state.

According to The Post, the Bogalusa Police Department verified that the artist, who is 24-year-old and renowned for his singles “Elimination”and “23 Island,” was shot together with a male relative named Kenyatta Scott Sr.

The shooting occurred just before 6 o’clock in the evening, and the rapper, whose actual name was Javorius Tykies Scott, had been brought to the hospital in a severe condition after the incident.

According to the authorities, JayDaYoungan passed away shortly before midnight.

The rapper’s relative is however in stable condition.

“This is a very fluid situation. Our officers are working diligently to identify the subjects responsible for these crimes,” police said in a statement.

According to the authorities, another gunshot took place around half an hour after the one that involved the rapper. The authorities said that it was conceivable the shootings were connected to one another.

According to postings on his social media accounts, JayDaYoungan has a small kid who he has left behind.

A child who is thought to be the rapper’s son is seen in a video that the rapper shared on Instagram only hours before he passed away.

In 2017, the record label Atlantic Records signed the rap artist to a recording contract. According to his profile on Pandora, the songs “Spinning” and “Taking Off” were important in his rise to fame.

During the course of his career, he worked with a variety of musicians, including Lato, Lil Durk, and Moneybagg Yo. In June of 2021, he released his first studio album, titled “23 Is Back.” Both his mixtape “Forever 23” and his first official studio album, “Baby23,” peaked on the Billboard album list.

He had over 1.2M subscribers on YouTube and a staggering 2.7M followers on Instagram. His popularity on both platforms was unmatched.

The incident happened less than a month after he got released from prison on charges relating to guns.

In October of 2021, he was apprehended while carrying a handgun, which he was not authorized to have since he was being prosecuted for assault in Texas at the same time as he was being investigated for unlawful possession of oxycodone.

After being arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to second-degree murder in September 2021, he had been granted release on bail in the amount of $175,000 at the time.

It is not quite apparent whether or not the rapper had anything to do with the incident. He was found guilty of firearms charges and given a sentence of five years in prison; however, he was freed from jail a month ago.
