As officials from the Biden Administration are preparing to meet their Chinese counterparts, a former US official and investigator from the state department who led the task force looking into the origins of the pandemic says that COVID-19 was actually a bioweapon and was the result of a research conducted by China. He says that the virus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
David Asher, who once used to be the lead investigator in the state department and has investigated the origins of the pandemic, says that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was conducting a classified and secret program that was developing a biological weapon and that COVID-19 was a result of that research.
It is to be noted that David Asher is not a conspiracy theorist and has worked on some of the most classified cases in the state department and the treasury having uncovered various things like the Uranium Enrichment Program by North Korea. He believes that COVID-19, which turned out to be one of the biggest biological weapons in history, was the result of experiments gone wrong and that the Communist Party of China has been trying to cover it up for the last 14 months.
David Asher says that this biological weapon has been responsible for millions of death and billions of dollars in losses while at the same time China itself has not suffered the slightest and become the biggest economy in the G20.
The former Lead investigator to the state department remarks that the behavior exhibited by the Chinese Government since the beginning of the pandemic reminds him of many other investigations he has led. There are many things that stick out for him, a few examples being that earlier victim being treated by people from the Wuhan Institute of Virology and that flu-like outbreak was reported amongst the Wuhan scientists well before China reported its first case.
Asher also says that this is not the only thing that makes him believe that the pandemic was a biological weapon gone wrong. China had entered into the domain of Bio-offence in 2016 as a part of the security policy put forward by the government led by Xi.
One thing that is also worth mentioning is that Biosafety has also been an issue in the Chinese research labs. Miles Yu, a state department official writing in the Wall Street Journal, says that their lab’s standards were so low that this was an accident waiting to happen.
China on the other hand says that it will continue to cooperate with the World Health Organization in an open and transparent manner to prevent any further risks and protect the lives of the people around the world.
