Authorities on the search for Brian Laundrie found human remains in the Florida park along with a notebook and a backpack. They claim to belong to the 23-year-old – People confirmed the news.

On Wednesday, during a press release, FBI Tampa, Michael McPherson revealed the news of discovering human remains from the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. However, he did not confirm whether it was Brian Laundrie’s or not.

The spot in the park where human remains have been found was previously submerged in water – he said.

Currently, an evidence response crew is at the park and will stay there for several days – McPherson confirmed.

After the brief press release, McPherson did not answer further requests for comments. While the small crew of the press chanted, “Justice for Gabby!”

On Wednesday, before the discovery of human remains, Sarasota County medical examiner’s officials and a cadaver breed dog were scheduled to visit the location where his belongings were found – Steven Bertolino, the family attorney of Laundrie’s, confirmed the news.

As per Bertolino, Laundrie’s family searched alongside the FBI officials for their son at the park.

After the death of Brian Laundrie’s alleged fiancé Gabby Petito, a search warrant was issued for the 23-year-old. As per the official, Laundrie is a person of interest for the case since it was found out that his fiance, Petito died of strangulation.

Sept 13 was the last time Brian Laundrie was seen. He told his parent that he was going for a hike at Carlton Reserve, resides close to Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

The authorities currently call him a fugitive. Last September, an arrest warrant was issued against him for unauthorized use of a debit card. According to Steven Bertolino, his family attorney, the suspect’s parents have no idea of his whereabouts.

Brain Laundrie and Gabby Petito, residents of Long Island, New York, went on a road trip in July. The couple traveled from Florida to New York and then headed west. His fiance recorded the entire trip and had planned to start a blog and a YouTube channel about their “van dwelling” lifestyle.
