The FBI has finally got their hands on scant evidence of the January 6 attack on the Capitol – as per the law enforcement officials.
After the January 6 attack, the FBI was investigating the alleged participants, and on August 20, they finally found scant evidence that it was done to overturn the election results.
The FBI by far arrested 57 participants. It was not a centralized, coordinated attack, nor does it involve any former President Donald Trump’s supporters, revealed by some sources directly involved in the investigation.
According to the former law enforcement official, “Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases” he was part of the investigation and further added,
“Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages.”
Stone also self-proclaimed “dirty trickster,” and Jone, founder of Webcast, both are supporters of the former president Donald Trump found to be involved in the Pro-Trump event that took place on January 5, right before the day of the attack.
The sources also confirmed that the FBI did find that Proud boys and far-right oath keepers had planned to break into the Capitol, but they were not sure about their next step after entering the place.
Conspiracy charges have been pressed against them as they were involved in the planning.
Coming from the investigation, the leader of the Proud Boy hired people to collect military equipment and bulletproof vests a week before the attack.
On January 6, he sent the team members in separate groups to make multiple entries to attack the Capitol.
However, as per discussion with other officials, the prosecutor decided not to press serious charges against alleged participants as of now.
This investigation has proved relevant for another congressional investigation against the people involved in the attack.
So far, all the senior lawmakers are taken in the loop to make the thorough lawful decisions on the current results presented by the FBI – disclosed by a democratic congress official.
