The Emmy Award-winning actors Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover have joined hands to remake the box office hit movie ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ for Amazon Studios.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt played the lead role in the 2005 movie. The film was an instant hit.
Glover and Bridge are playing the lead roles. They will also serve as the executive producers of the film. Waller-Bridge announced the project in her Instagram feed.
The two actors have also appeared in the Star Wars movie ‘Solo’.
‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ the 2005 Jolie-Pitt starrer had racked up $500 million worldwide. News has been circulating for a long time about a possible sequel to the film.
The series, produced by Amazon Studios and New Regency, will be available to Amazon subscribers in more than 240 countries and territories.
Waller-Bridge, the executive producer of ‘Killing Eve’ has won three Emmy Awards. Glover, who is an acclaimed musical performer, has won two Emmy Awards.
