Singer and mother Grimes revealed in an interview that their daughter was born in December last year through surrogacy.
The 33-year-old Canadian singer stated that they did not have any intention of making the news public but the journalist Devin Gordon belonging to Vanity Fair heard the baby crying at the back while she was giving an interview thus the news was revealed.
The on-and-off couple also have a son together who was born in May of 2020 and is named as “X A.I. Archangel” nicknamed as “X”
The 48-year-old CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk has five older children from a previous marriage namely Damian, Kai, and Saxon who are triplets and twins namely Xavier and Griffin. The CEO is also rumoured to be dating actress Natasha Bassett.
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, stated that their relationship status is “very fluid”. The couple recently broke up again in September 2021.
“There’s no real word for it,” she stated. “I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time … We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”
After the news broke of the latest addition to the family. Grimes tweeted that the latest interview with Vanity Fair was meant to focus on her work life rather than her personal life.
“Def held back a lot, contrary 2 headlines,” she tweeted, adding: “& didn’t mean for them 2 find out about my daughter so please respect her privacy as I’d love her to be able to live as private of a life as possible.” She also stated that the couple is not together anymore at the time of the publishing of the interview at vanity fair but she concluded that “Musk was my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well.”
