Dr. Jill Biden has honored the teachers all across the country on her first official day as the first lady. Biden held a virtual event to honor teachers, herself being one for decades. The event was a 20-minute-long Livestream where she poured her heart out and said that she and the President, honor the role of teachers in society, and will always stand with the teacher unions.

Dr. Jill Biden held a meeting with the teachers’ union presidents, namely: Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers, and Becky Pringle of the National Education Association. She paid tribute to the educationalists and assured both of them that the Biden Administration is totally pro-teachers.

She exclaimed how she backed her husband, Joe Biden’s decision of opening most of the K-12 schools within 100 days of his presidency. She reassured me that she will remain in touch with the unions. She also urged the two representatives to formalize a plan for re-opening of the schools in these critical times.

A teacher by profession; it was not a coincidence that teachers’ importance was highlighted on the first day of her tenure as the first lady of the United States of America.

Dr. Jill Biden teaches English at Northern Virginia Community College in suburban Washington – a job she plans to continue – while serving as the First Lady.

Fondly known as “Dr. B” by her students; Dr. Jill Biden will be the first FLOTUS in the history of the USA to pursue a career while staying at the House.

Biden concluded the virtual event, by proclaiming that now is the time to seize the moment. She further added that being an educator, she knows how to turn chaos into something beautiful – and that’s what she expects from all the teachers around the country. Together we stand, and fight this critical time, and come out of it as warriors.
