Demi Lovato has gotten all “Sober “ before she enters the new year!
The Young singer, who also has made appearances in popular shows and movies says, “they are all sober sober”. Initially, she adopted a “California sober” approach that allows only a moderate amount of alcohol and marijuana consumption before turning completely sober.
On Thursday, Dec 2, the star posted on her Instagram story, “I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways. Sober sober is the only way to be.”
During a recorded session for CBS Sunday Morning with Tracy Smith in 2021, the actress revealed she chose this way of living years ago.
The actress said it was her choice to take up this challenge and go for moderate consumption of alcohol and weed after she nearly faced death due to a drug overdose in 2018.
“So, you’re doing what they call moderation, I guess, right? So, you’re drinking, smoking a little bit of weed, is that fair to say?” asked the host, Smith.
To that, Demi Lovato replied, “Yeah. I think the term that I best identify with is ‘California sober.’”
In another interview that happened in the same month, the singer who prefers using gender-neutral pronouns said she has discussed the new sober approach with her rehabilitation manager in view of her drug overdose case.
“I am cautious to say that, just like, I feel the complete abstinent method isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for everybody,” said the songstress. “I don’t think that this journey of moderation is a one-size-fits-all solution for everybody, too.”
She recorded her entire journey from being wasted to getting hospitalized and to finally getting recovered in a YouTube video of which the title reads, Dancing with the Devil.
The four-part YouTube series takes the viewers through her 2018 drug overdose phase and how she got saved just a few minutes from death after her assistant dialed 911.
IN 2018, the singer Tweeted about her 6 years of being Sober. She wrote, “Just officially turned 6 years sober. So grateful for another year of joy, health and happiness. It IS possible”. This also comprehends that the celebrity turned 9 years sober in 2021.
