Chris Lane, a country artist, had never planned to marry until he met his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane. The pair married in 2019 after a year of dating, and Chris seems to be more in love than ever, relishing his position as a father and husband.
Lane and Bushnell met during a radio event in Austin, Texas, in 2015. The pair didn’t get together until 2018, when Chris Lane invited her on a vacation with a group of pals. Bushnell stated that Lane almost frightened her away when she told the tale.
“He talked about how he wanted to be single forever, how he didn’t know if he wanted kids,” she told People magazine. “Chris decided to use our entire trip to completely scare me away.” She did, however, concede that she was “guarded” too. Lane, on the other hand, could not get Bushnell off his mind after the vacation, and the pair married in October 2019. Last year, they also had a son, John Dutton.
Lane has come a long way, opening up to ET about how becoming a parent and a spouse has been an unexpected but wonderful adjustment for him. “I never wanted kids,” Lane said. “I honestly never wanted to get married. None of that,” he said.
“I feel like when you meet somebody that makes you want to change your mindset and then makes you want that …,” Lane remarked of Bushnell before divulging some personal details. “Actually, the day [Dutton] was born, and I haven’t told anybody this, but I cried my eyes out, because I felt like I was praying, just, ‘Lord, thank you so much for not listening to me for all those years that I said I never wanted that.’ I wouldn’t have known what I was missing out on and it’s truly the best thing in the world,” he continued. Bushnell, who was born on February 2, 1990, is a flight attendant and reality television personality. In 2016, she participated in the season of ‘The Bachelor,’ which starred Ben Higgins. Bushnell won the season and got engaged to Higgins at the finale. The program only lasted one season, from October to November of 2016, since the pair split up in May of 2017.
