American Idol Alumni, Chris Daughtry came forward to confirm the cause of the death of his stepdaughter.
Chris Daughtry, a 42-year-old musician confirmed that Hannah Price who was found dead two months ago at her place died because of committing suicide while being under the influence of drugs and narcotics.
Hannah Price was 25-year-old and died on 12th November 2021 in Fentress County, Tennessee.
“Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021,” read the family’s statement. “Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement we are now able to speak in further detail.”
It was widely speculated at the time of death that Price died because of a potential homicide but Daughtry’s wife kept on clarifying the air that it is a rumor only.
According to the statement released by the family, Hannah Price had been struggling for long with mental illness and had been “in and out of therapy and treatment centers” in the past.
“As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and often found herself in abusive relationships,” they continued, “noting that price was shot in the face just months after losing her biological father to suicide.”
“We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track. We had just recently made plans with Hannah for her to seek further treatment and move closer to the family.”
The family also disclosed that the day Price died, she had messaged the family stating that she had a “fear for her life” allegedly blaming her boyfriend for physical abuse and also taking her car. The family had immediately contacted local police to go and perform a wellness check
Authorities had conducted a wellness check stating that the price was doing ok around 1 pm local time.
Hannah Price was later found dead at her place.
No foul play was observed by the Fentress County DA and the Knoxville Medical Examiner’s Office.
