ABC news’ former female manager accused CNN’s anchor Chris Cuomo of sexual harassment on Friday, September 24.

On Friday, a TV journalist who used to work with Chris Cuomo at ABC News accused Cuomo of harassing her once during her time there. As per the victim, “Cuomo Prime Time” needs to “journalistically repent” for the misconduct.

Shelley Ross, who is the former executive has stated that the producer outlined a case in a guest essay for the NYT (New York Times) regarding Chris Cuomo, who was extremely criticized this year for advising his brother Gov. Andrew Cuomo amidst his scandal with a journalist. Allegedly, in 2013, Chris Cuomo squeezed her behind without her permission.

There was also an email that came to light showing Chris Cuomo apologizing for his behavior.

She wrote, “At the time, I was the executive producer of an ABC entertainment special, but I was Mr. Cuomo’s executive producer at ‘Primetime Live’ just before that,” and explained the incident saying, “I was at the party with my husband, who sat behind me on an ottoman sipping his Diet Coke as I spoke with work friends. When Mr. Cuomo entered the Upper West Side bar, he walked toward me and greeted me with a strong bear hug while lowering one hand to grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock firmly.”

As per Ross, Chris Cuomo told her, “I can do this now that you’re no longer my boss”, “with a kind of cocky arrogance.” “He couldn’t,” The journalist replied to him as she pushed him away in front of her husband and rushed out of the party which was held on ABC’s colleague leaving.

After reaching home, Ross copied the email sent to her from Chris Cuomo, saying he was “ashamed” of his misconduct. She even noticed celebrity  Christian Slater had been charged for a similar offense.

He wrote, “[T]hough my hearty greeting was a function of being glad to see you … Christian slater got arrested for a (kind of) similar act, (though borne of an alleged negative intent, unlike my own)…and as a husband, I can empathize with not liking to see my wife patted as such,”

CNN criticized the younger Cuomo for advising his brother to fight the allegation against him. However, later he apologized for that on air.

Lindsey Boylan, who accused Governor Cuomo of inappropriate comments, encouraged and praised Shelley Ross, as she wrote on Twitter,

Thank you, Shelley Ross. Your focus on accountability is exactly right,”
