After gunshots broke out at a park in Chicago, officials say at least two individuals have been killed and seven others are now receiving medical treatment for their wounds.

WGN-TV and WLS-TV reported that the incident took place at Washington Park just a few minutes before 8 o’clock on Tuesday evening. According to the newspaper’s story, the Chicago Police Department said that an incident between two groups of individuals resulted in a shooting. Nine persons, ranging in age from 19 to 46, were injured by gunfire during the incident.

WLS-TV said that a guy in his 20s who had been shot numerous times and another man in his 40s who had been hit in the head both passed away at a local hospital after being injured in the attack. The remaining seven victims are thought to be in stable condition, according to the police.

According to various news sites, the police have not made any arrests in connection with the incident. The law enforcement agencies are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information that leads to the capture of a suspect.

Authorities informed Fox News that many officers from the Chicago Police Department were rushed to the 5500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive near Washington Park.

According to the Deputy Chief of the Chicago Police Department, Fred Melean, all of the victims were adults.

The shooting occurred when the city is still experiencing a surge of violence on a regular basis. A horrific video that was released not too long ago shows a lady on the North Side of Chicago wailing while being attacked and robbed at gunpoint.

According to Fox 32, earlier this week the city recorded its 500th murder for the year when a 28-year-old man was slain as he was leaving his mother’s house.

According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the number of gunshots and murders have decreased compared to the same period last year. This is despite the alarmingly high rate of homicides, which stands at over two per day.

According to Fox 32, there were 591 murders at the same period in the previous year, and there are expected to be roughly 550 homicides at the same point in the next year.

Darren Bailey, a candidate for governor on the Republican ticket, has referred to Chicago as a “h—-hole” and said that the city’s population are “living the purge.”

According to a recent estimate, the number of carjacking in Chicago will be six times more in 2022 than they were in 2014.
