According to President Trump, catching the coronavirus is a ‘blessing in disguise’. The President was treated for COVID-19 with a drug that’s in the experimental phase; which turned out great for him.
The doctors at the Walter Reed Hospital, where Trump was taken, gave him Regeneron which is an antibody against COVID-10 and is currently in an experiential phase.
Trump asked the doctors to use REGN-COV2 for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, even though the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t approved the use of the drug for commercial treatment of COVID-19
According to President Trump, immediately after taking the Regeneron’s drug, his body felt good and relaxed.
Trump believes this drug might finally be the cure for COVID-19 that doctors have been looking for.
After taking the drugs, Trump said, the drug simply made him feel better and he could see his health recovering fast.
In his video message, he also endorsed another drug similar to the one he took in the hospital, which is being developed by Eli Lilly and Company. The company is seeking the Federal Drug Administration’s approval so that it can be publically used for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Addressing his social media audience, Trump said he wants everyone to get treated the same way as he did for COVID-19. He felt healthy and fit and would want every individual to feel the same way.
Trump also stated that he wishes to make the drug Regeneron freely accessible for everyone in the country who has gotten the coronavirus. He wants everyone to be treated by the drug so they could beat the coronavirus and feel healthy like him
Trump emphasized that he will make sure anyone who is ill due to the virus and is feeling bad will be treated with the drug and it would be ensured that they get it for free.
Trump especially stressed on providing prompt treatment to the senior citizens who might have contracted the coronavirus and are in critical conditions.
President Trump acknowledged the fact that it might be impossible to make the COVID-19 vaccine available to the public before the election.
Trump mentioned politics can be a reason for the vaccine not being developed on time. However, he seems confident about the vaccines to be available after elections.
