Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has decided to come out of her self-proclaimed retirement from the film industry. She has signed up for a film with actor Jamie Foxx ironically titled as “Back in Action.”
Jamie Foxx was the one who broke this news on social media by teasing Cameron Diaz by releasing a snippet from his phone call with the actress.
49-year-old Cameron Diaz exclaimed that she is “so anxious” but “excited” at the same time about her return to the set of any film.
The project is said to be a Netflix film.
She was last seen on the big screen eight years ago, in a remake of Annie where she played the infamous role of Miss Hannigan. She will be reunited with Foxx as her last film before retirement was with Jamie Foxx as well.
In the same phone call, Jamie Foxx connected Diaz with Super Bowl champion Tom Brady in order to talk about her big comeback and to share some tips to lessen her anxiety.
“I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to un-retire,” said Tom Brady to Diaz.
Tom Brady made a comeback from his retirement to the NFL this March after six weeks of announcement.
“I’m relatively successful at un-retiring,” said Brady.
“Honestly, exactly what I needed,” Diaz replied.
Jamie Foxx posted the video with a caption more like a disclaimer stating “Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now”
The Oscar-award winner tweeted “… @CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION – our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!”
Following the announcement. Cameron Diaz reached out to her fans on her Instagram and wrote “I can’t frickin wait it’s gonna be a blast!”
According to the reports, Seth Gordon will be directing the movie and the script is co-written by Seth Gordon and Brendan O’Brien. The details of the script are still kept mysterious.
Jamie Foxx will be the executive producer of “back in action” with Mark McNair, O’Brien, and Datari Turner.
