It was a night to remember for BTS as they won 3 major awards at the American Music Awards 2021 as well as their super energetic and techno-splurged performance with Coldplay on their collaborative song “My Universe” turned out to be a total crowd puller!
The boy band hailing from Korea was over the moon with the ecstatic night they had as they ended the ceremony with their worldwide hit track “Butter” which also won the award of Favorite pop song of the year.
The international Korean band collaborated with Coldplay for a track called “My universe”. Previously they had collaborated with other great artists like Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Fall Out Boy, and Nicki Minaj.
My universe is a perfect example of “East meets West”, as two famous boy bands united to give a power pack performance.
The British rock band joined hands with a Korean band to sing at the Microsoft theater where the ceremony took place in the area of downtown Los Angeles this Sunday.
The song, My universe, was released in September 2021, and to no one’s surprise, it debuted on the top of the Billboard hot 100 singles charts. This was a historic moment for a track being collaborated with 2 of the leading groups to top the singles chart.
Cardi B, the host of the night invited the two groups on stage for their performance by saying it’s “gonna be huge as we’ve got the biggest bands in the world.” She also stated that this is the very first time the two bands are performing live together.
The frontman of the British rock band Coldplay, Chris Martin joined the seven men army BTS on stage which comprises J-Hope, V, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, RM, and Suga.
The song performance was sheer bliss for music lovers as it ended with an explosive display of pyrotechnics on the stage which totally bedazzled the crowd.
Megan Thee Stallion had to perform as well with BTS on their worldwide hit track Butter but she pulled out from the ceremony due to personal reasons.
She stated, “Hotties I was so excited to go to the @AMAs and perform with @BTS_official, but due to an unexpected personal matter, I can no longer attend. I’m so sad! I really can’t wait to hit the stage with my guys and perform #BTS_Butter real soon!”
