Iconic actor Bruce Willis announces that he is battling aphasia and will be taking a break from movies and acting.
The 67-year-old actor’s family stated that he is taking a break because of aphasia which is a neurological disease that affects a person’s ability to communicate.
The family shared the news of his deteriorating mental health as it is affecting his cognitive abilities.
The family of Bruce Willis released a statement saying “Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
The statement further read, “This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”
“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”
The statement was written on behalf of Bruce Willis’s wife Emma, his ex-wife Demi Moore and his daughters Scout, Mabel, Evelyn, and Rumer.
Demi Moore’s Instagram was full of comments in support of Bruce Willis’s health.
Many Hollywood A-listers and fellow actors came forward to show their support to the family of Bruce Willis in these trying times.
“We love Bruce so much. Sending love to him and your family Bruce has given us sooo much! What an amazing career. May he rest and recover,” said Debi Mazar.
Jamie Lee Curtis stated “Grace and guts! Love to you all!”
Cindy Crawford showcased her support with a comment of an emoji shaped as praying hands.
Seth Green wrote “I have so much love for Bruce Willis, and am grateful for every character he’s given us. Hugs and love for the whole family- thank you for sharing him with us all.”
Matthew Marsden stated “I’m very proud to have worked opposite the great Bruce Willis in one of his last movies. This is very sad. Legend.”
The last acting project that Willis completed is an action-packed thriller “Paradise city” which will hit the cinemas soon. Praya Lundberg and John Travolta will be seen alongside him.
